Before you assemble the LDU in the car, you should mount a Large Drive Unit collant delete kit. Google about Tesla LDU collant delete kit, it solves a cronic defect. Even Tesla is doing it.

Hey Jeremy, your videos are great. Keep it up! You are doing a great job troubleshooting those electrical gremlins and showing your process. I also like that you are using the correct HV rated tools and PPE 👏. On that isolation loss issue, when the HVPDU is disconnected, did you confirm that there is an isolation loss between the HV terminals and case? If so, then I would look for a short to ground near one of the HV connectors inside the HVPDU. It could be a single loose copper strand from an HV cables or some chafed insulation in there. I know you will figure it out soon and I’m looking forward to the resolution in a future video.

For that low voltage isolator ground connection, my first thought was cover it with some liquid electrical tape? It is a rubberized coating that you can brush on that will prevent a short if something touches it, but you should still be able to unscrew that screw if you need to.

I just love the idea of taking the real contours of your project and putting then in CAD to experiment.

Looks very good gravity-wise, but the bolt spacers youput in will do almost nothing to stop the two plates from beding (to the left when in the car). If you add an othogonal piece of flat steel as a brace between the two blates it will be very rigid with just a relatively thin plate.

Kudos for making the right decision a little late, as you put it. The fuse diagram was very interesting, that was new to me. Selling the subframe would have put it to better use, could have really helped someone with his build :( And probably got you more mone

Fearlessly charging ahead as usual. Lol. Maybe the housing for the co troller was that big because of heat? Your smaller 3D printed space might heat quicker, I don't know how much heat the controller gives off.

I'm no car guy but that's a work of art! Great job on everything. The only observation I have is that the colour isn't expressive of the effort you've put into the build. I get that it's only an opinion.....but the colour could have been so much more than 'just a colour'. I love the car....It looks like a blast to drive.

I vote for a full review of the e-bike jerry rig style ;) open that puppy up, motor, batteries etc...those chinese e-bikes tend to caught fire while charging anyway :)

I love seeing all the trouble shooting. Most videos just show a build and everything magically works. This is far more real world. You seem to run into a bunch of issues with parts failing from the factory. That would annoy me greatly. You've got far more patience than me.

To be fair, you wouldnt (and didn't in your last build) just put the bartteries 'dry' on the cooling plate, you'd use thermal paste or better non conductive heat pads. I'm curious to seehow it performs real-world. It may still be sufficient in normal use.

Great packaging, you clearly put some thought behind that. So e close calls between the fuses and the wall and the bus bar and the wall respectively make me uneasy though. I hope you're going to put a very good insulater in between that.

on the HVJB, is the disconnect a fused type or just a busbar inside? wondering if there's an issue in the safety disconnect

Battery boxes look sharp. Do you plan to seal them watertight with silicone or rubber seals? But I fear the battery modules won't transfer heat into the cooling plates very well, they look to be plastic and have somewhat uneven.
